About the Role
The position leads informatics projects related to health IT systems, driving data strategy, system interoperability, and technology implementation to support healthcare delivery and analytics.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of health informatics solutions
- Coordinate data integration across clinical and administrative systems
- Support the development of interoperability standards and protocols
- Analyze healthcare data workflows to improve system performance
- Guide teams in adopting best practices for health information management
- Translate clinical requirements into technical specifications
- Oversee data validation and quality assurance processes
- Collaborate with IT and clinical stakeholders on system enhancements
- Manage timelines and deliverables for informatics initiatives
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data regulations and standards
- Develop documentation for system configurations and processes
- Provide expertise in electronic health record systems and interfaces
- Evaluate emerging health IT tools and technologies
- Lead training sessions for technical and clinical staff
- Support change management during system implementations
- Monitor system performance and recommend optimizations
- Facilitate communication between technical teams and healthcare providers
- Assist in risk assessment for data security and privacy
- Participate in project planning and resource allocation
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health IT standards such as HL7 and FHIR
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in health informatics or related discipline
- Experience with FHIR-based applications
- Leadership in multi-institutional health IT projects
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS)
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP)
- Direct experience with population health platforms
- Knowledge of machine learning applications in healthcare
