Responsibilities
- Lead the creation, upkeep, and enhancement of the site's health and safety strategy in alignment with laws and organizational goals.
- Foster a strong safety mindset by guiding, coaching, and training staff and leadership.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental policies, risk evaluations, and work procedures are up to date, shared, and followed.
- Deliver safety inductions, training sessions, toolbox talks, and periodic refreshers.
- Offer expert assistance in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective steps.
- Track compliance with legal standards, audit benchmarks, and internal performance indicators.
- Conduct internal audits and assist with external ones, ensuring timely resolution of findings.
- Manage documentation systems, non-conformance reports, and corrective and preventive actions.
- Support hygiene, allergen control, and pest management as part of broader quality compliance.
- Maintain and assist with external quality certifications and standards.
- Ensure fire safety inspections, emergency lighting tests, evacuation drills, and fire risk actions are completed on schedule.
- Oversee site facilities to guarantee a safe, compliant, and well-kept workplace.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to meet facility and audit requirements.
- Build systems to track, measure, and compare safety performance metrics.
- Review incident data, occupational health trends, and insurance information to minimize risk and costs.
- Ensure risks are managed to a legally acceptable standard of control.
- Keep accurate records of safety and mechanical handling equipment training.
- Offer practical, solution-oriented guidance to site management teams.
- Assist in budget development for safety, facilities, and compliance initiatives and adhere to approved spending limits.
