Responsibilities
- Shape and lead the strategic direction of research initiatives
- Develop a prioritized research roadmap focused on mitigating technical risks and accelerating product delivery
- Proactively identify potential technical challenges and validate solutions ahead of engineering efforts
- Build scalable research methodologies and standards adaptable to team growth
- Utilize expertise in graph databases, algorithms, and recommendation systems to solve advanced data challenges
- Improve system performance and reduce operational costs through research-driven optimization
- Apply knowledge of large-scale machine learning systems to enhance efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate closely with engineering and science leadership in an integrated, non-transactional partnership
- Align with product and customer-facing teams to ensure research maintains high methodological standards
- Communicate complex research outcomes into clear, practical guidance for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Lead and mentor high-performing junior research team members
- Foster a team culture that values curiosity, analytical rigor, and practical problem-solving
