About the Role
Conduct on-site Halal compliance audits at food production facilities across the U.S. and internationally. Evaluate processes and materials, produce detailed reports, and guide clients on Halal standards. Ideal candidates are U.S.-based professionals with a background in food science or related fields and the ability to travel.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site Halal compliance audits at food manufacturing and processing facilities to verify alignment with established Halal standards.
- Assess raw materials and production methods for conformity with Halal requirements.
- Create comprehensive audit documentation outlining findings, observations, and compliance status.
- Work directly with facility teams to offer technical guidance on Halal standards and practices.
- Train and advise clients on Halal certification criteria and regulatory expectations.
- Contribute to refining audit procedures to better reflect Islamic dietary guidelines and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Must currently reside in the United States.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or hold a valid Green Card.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as food science, biology, or religious studies.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally for audits and inspections.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of global Halal certification systems including JAKIM, MUI, or MUIS standards.
