Merck & Co., Inc. is looking for a GYN Oncology Regional Medical Scientific Director to serve as a therapeutic expert engaging in scientific exchange with external medical leaders. This field-based medical role involves providing balanced scientific information, supporting clinical research, and responding to inquiries without any sales objectives.
What You'll Do
- Develop professional relationships and communicate with national and regional scientific leaders to ensure access to medical and scientific information.
- Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintain a reliable presence with scientific leaders.
- Support Company-Sponsored Trials to enhance understanding of scientific foundations, support patient enrollment, or address investigator questions.
- Initiate discussions with potential investigators to determine interest and qualifications for specific compounds or trials.
- Recommend potential study sites to Global Clinical Trial Operations/Clinical Research.
- Address requests from investigators for information regarding participation in company studies and respond to scientific questions.
- Support company Investigator-Sponsored studies by discussing study concepts to assess scientific merit and alignment.
- Respond to unsolicited requests for assistance from potential investigators in submitting research proposals.
- Review headquarters-directed education and training to maintain current scientific and clinical knowledge.
- Direct scientific leader inquiries on issues outside scope to appropriate company resources.
- Serve as a resource for identifying potential investigators for phase II-IV clinical development programs.
- Provide information regarding the company Investigator Study Program process in response to unsolicited requests.
- Serve as a role model for other field medical team members, including on-boarding and training.
- Attend scientific and medical meetings.
What We're Looking For
- PhD, PharmD, MD, or DNP.
- Clinical (patient care) or deep research experience in assigned therapeutic area(s) beyond terminal degree.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience and proven therapeutic competence in Field Medical Oncology.
- Thorough understanding of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and other ethical guidelines, laws, and regulations relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment.
- Must reside in the territory (MN, WI, ND, SD, IA, KS, NE, IN, IL, MI (UP)).
- Available for up to 50% travel with some overnight.

- Demonstrated record of scientific/medical publication.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $206,200.00 - $324,600.00
