As a Guest Services Volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the daily experience of patients, families, and staff at a premier healthcare institution. Your presence will help create a calm, welcoming environment for those navigating complex medical journeys.
What You'll Do
- Offer a thoughtful and respectful welcome to everyone arriving at the facility, setting a reassuring tone from the first interaction
- Guide individuals to departments, waiting areas, and other key locations, ensuring they feel oriented and supported
- Respond clearly to questions about hospital services, visitor guidelines, and building layout
- Transport patients using wheelchairs when necessary, prioritizing safety and comfort
- Deliver flowers from the Information Desk to patient rooms, contributing to moments of connection and comfort
- Prepare and organize reading materials on the main floor to enhance the waiting experience
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Available to commit to a consistent 3-hour shift each week for no less than six months
- Former or current patients must be out of active treatment for at least one year
- Demonstrate a respectful, approachable manner when interacting with diverse individuals
- Able to stand and move throughout the facility for the duration of your shift
- Comfortable using digital tools and systems as needed
