Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity is hiring a Senior Graphic Designer to provide professional graphic art services for a wide range of promotional and corporate communications. In this essential Marketing team role, you’ll ensure and defend brand consistency while planning, designing, and producing impactful materials.
What You'll Do
- Design and produce artwork for diverse properties including print and digital ads, publications, brochures, posters, annual reports, and OOH assets.
- Create graphics for the Banff Centre Website and various online platforms.
- Handle on-site design projects such as signage and advertising boards.
- Establish and maintain project schedules and costs, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with external departments and divisions as required.
- Manage tight deadlines and changing priorities in a high-pressure environment while maintaining excellent communication and quality.
- Provide leadership regarding branding and Banff Centre’s visual identity, communicating and implementing key messages.
- Present and defend design work in Marketing and Communications group meetings.
- Maintain current knowledge of developments within the computer graphics and design industry.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional graphic design experience.
- A diploma or degree in graphic design, or equivalent related experience.
- Essential experience designing and producing multi-page publications or magazines.
- A thorough knowledge of design practices, promotion, packaging, and production, with a high degree of creativity and vision.
- High technical proficiency with the Macintosh OSX Operating System.
- High technical proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite applications including InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Photoshop.
- High technical proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and scanning hardware/software.
- Recognized for being highly motivated, creative, and providing exceptional customer service.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and strong written and verbal skills.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and in a high-pressure environment.
- A collaborative team player who understands the value of building internal and external relationships.
- Reliable with the ability to work under broad direction and in a self-directed manner.
- Well-organized, detail-focused, and able to successfully manage multiple tasks and projects.

Nice to Have
- Experience designing material for the arts or other post-secondary institutions.
- Illustration skills.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Animate and Adobe After Effects for interactive & animated web content and digital advertising.

You will be an essential member of the Marketing team, reporting to the Director of Marketing.

Work Mode
This is a hybrid role based in Banff, Alberta, Canada, with a schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. A remote work schedule may also be considered.
