Mass General Brigham is hiring a Grants Administrator I

Position Overview

As a Grants Administrator I, you will play a key role in advancing research initiatives by managing the full lifecycle of grant submissions and post-award activities. You will collaborate closely with Principal Investigators and department administrators to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant grant proposals and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit research grant applications, ensuring alignment with sponsor and institutional policies.
  • Maintain detailed records of grants and contracts, tracking financial commitments and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and analyze budgets, cost justifications, and financial reports to support funding requests.
  • Monitor expenditures across assigned research portfolios, identifying discrepancies and advising on allowable costs.
  • Process financial transactions, including purchase orders and accounts payable/receivable, resolving issues promptly.
  • Serve as the primary contact for pre- and post-award support, guiding departments through funding guidelines and reporting obligations.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and organizational regulations throughout the grant lifecycle.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold an Associate's Degree in Financial Management or a related field, along with 1–2 years of experience in research administration. Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and accounting software is essential. Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills are required to manage complex financial data and coordinate across teams.

A Bachelor's Degree in Financial Management is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative research environment.

This is a hybrid position based at 600 Main Street, with periodic onsite requirements and remote flexibility. The role supports a mission-driven organization committed to patient care, innovation in medical research, and community impact.

Compensation & Benefits
