Black & Veatch is hiring a Graduate Engineer to learn and build foundational cybersecurity design expertise within our Federal projects, with a specific focus on Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity. You will collaborate closely with engineering staff on medium to high complexity projects, serving as a developing technical specialist.
What You'll Do
- Under close supervision, provide cybersecurity solutions for Federal facilities, including MILCON facilities such as headquarters, data centers, hangars, and other specialized Federal facilities.
- Secure Facility Related Control Systems for mission-critical facilities using the Risk Management Framework process.
- Produce design deliverables such as cybersecurity control lists, cybersecurity specifications, and design analysis documents.
- Collaborate with engineering project teams on conceptual designs and design reviews.
- Think critically and solve problems with unique solutions.
- Present and speak with clients in public settings, either in person or via conference calls.
- Travel occasionally for client meetings or site visits.
- Learn and apply standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, and Black & Veatch policies and procedures.
- Ensure deliverables are accurate and compliant by continually developing knowledge of the Black & Veatch Quality Program.
- Stay current with updates and changes to standards in the fast-paced OT cybersecurity field.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in engineering technology or sciences preferred or any other degree, specialized training, or experience, that makes the individual uniquely qualified to perform the job responsibilities.
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
- Assigned to projects for U.S. Government Agency/Department clients. Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
Nice to Have
- Related work experience designing, programming, or installing one or more of the following systems: Electronic Security, Building Control Systems, HVAC Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Power Control Systems.
- Knowledge of NIST Risk Management Framework principles to reduce vulnerability to cyber-attacks.
- Working knowledge of basic IT infrastructure.
