Lead government procurement initiatives for a leading tire manufacturer by identifying and pursuing contract opportunities across federal, state, and local agencies. This role is central to developing and submitting competitive bids while ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze government solicitations—including RFPs, RFQs, and IFBs—across platforms like SAM.gov and state procurement portals to identify relevant opportunities.
- Lead end-to-end bid development, from initial assessment to final submission, ensuring technical accuracy, pricing alignment, and adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with dealers and government contacts to gather requirements, validate compliance, and support ongoing contract needs.
- Maintain active registrations in government systems and ensure all certifications are current and properly documented.
- Work cross-functionally with sales, legal, logistics, and finance teams to compile necessary inputs and approvals for timely bid responses.
- Track submissions, manage award outcomes, and conduct post-submission reviews to refine future strategies.
- Support contract execution by monitoring performance, delivery timelines, reporting obligations, and invoicing terms.
- Build and maintain relationships with procurement officers and contracting agencies to enhance visibility and responsiveness.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should bring proven experience in government contracting or proposal management, with a solid understanding of procurement processes and regulatory frameworks such as the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for managing complex documentation and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Minimum of 3 years in government procurement, bid development, or contract administration.
- Hands-on experience with SAM.gov, GSA Advantage, or state-level procurement systems.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, legal terms, and pricing requirements within government solicitations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
- Background in manufacturing, automotive, or logistics industries is a plus, particularly with exposure to defense or transportation sector procurement (e.g., DLA, DoD, DOT).
- Familiarity with SAP, CRM platforms, or proposal management software is beneficial.
