The Government Affairs role in Medtronic Nordics is tasked with sculpting and advancing the company's public policy agenda across Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland. This encompasses proactively engaging in strategic dialogues with policymakers, health authorities, industry associations, and critical stakeholders to advocate for policies promoting patient access to innovations and public-private collaborations ensuring healthcare resilience. This is a remote position with travel expectations primarily within the Nordic region. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: - Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with policymakers, decision-makers, and health authorities in the Nordics, while monitoring and analyzing legislative and regulatory developments potentially impacting MedTech and Medtronic's operational landscape, representing the organization in discussions with governmental bodies, trade associations, and stakeholders - Champion policies facilitating MedTech innovation implementation, healthcare transformation, and patient accessibility – including Health Technology Assessment for MedTech and reforms supporting healthcare digitalization - Advocate for collaborative partnerships within the healthcare sector to support systemic transformation and ensure healthcare system resilience - Collaborate with internal teams to develop policy positions and strategic messaging aligned with Medtronic's organizational objectives - Construct and manage relationships with healthcare organizations, trade associations, patient advocacy groups, and external stakeholders, actively participating in industry forums, conferences, and working groups to represent Medtronic's interests - Develop and implement a comprehensive government affairs strategy for the Nordics, providing strategic counsel to senior leadership on political and regulatory risks and opportunities, managing Medtronic arrangements at Nordic political summit weeks - Collaborate closely with operating units and enterprise accounts/integrated health solutions teams in the Nordics, preparing briefing materials, position papers, and reports, communicating policy updates and advocacy outcomes internally, and engaging with the global government affairs team as a Western Europe government affairs council member Required Knowledge and Experience: - Substantial professional experience driving policy issues and opportunities, supported by relevant academic credentials - Established networks with politicians, authorities, and healthcare decision-makers, with exceptional ability to continuously expand professional connections - Comprehensive understanding of Nordic political, regulatory, and healthcare policy landscapes - Exceptional relationship-building capabilities with government officials, health authorities, and industry associations - Fluency in English and at least one Scandinavian language, preferably Swedish, with basic proficiency in additional Scandinavian languages - Advanced analytical skills to assess policy change impacts on the MedTech sector and Medtronic - Strategic mindset characterized by proactive initiative and results-driven approach Physical Job Requirements The above statements describe the general nature and work level performed by employees in this position, though they are not an exhaustive list of all required responsibilities and skills.
