ResMed is looking for a Global Freight Optimization Manager to evaluate, design, and enhance our domestic and international freight and distribution networks. In this data-driven role, you will provide the analytical foundation to drive cost reductions, improve service levels, and increase supply chain agility for a company shaping the future of healthcare.
What You'll Do
- Act as a key leader in developing and executing logistics strategic initiatives.
- Analyze end-to-end logistics performance and cost drivers across ocean, air, truckload, intermodal, and parcel networks.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement optimization strategies for mode, carrier, lane, and consolidation.
- Build and maintain transportation models and scenario planning tools for make/buy, insource/outsource, and carrier shift analyses.
- Lead lane-level optimization studies and recommend changes to improve cost, service, and sustainability.
- Monitor key metrics such as transit time, freight cost per unit, cube utilization, and on-time delivery.
- Work cross-functionally with planning, warehousing, procurement, and customer service to align logistics strategies.
- Use TMS, BI platforms, and analytics tools like Tableau, Power BI, Excel, and Alteryx for performance analysis, visibility, and reporting.
- Support or lead the implementation of new logistics tools and system enhancements, including TMS and network design software.
- Partner with freight forwarders, 3PLs, and carriers to improve performance and transparency.
- Support RFP processes, carrier evaluations, and continuous improvement plans.
- Stay current on industry trends and developments to implement best practices and innovative solutions.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10+ years of logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience, with direct involvement in network design or freight optimization.
- Experience with international freight, customs, or Incoterms.
- Exposure to sustainability initiatives or green logistics programs.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in Excel, data visualization tools, and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Experience with routing software or network modeling tools like Llamasoft, Coupa, Oracle GTM, or SAP TM.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable data and solutions.
- Experience managing cross-functional working teams and complex global logistics network initiatives.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and mission-critical environment.
