Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and execute the various functions of the accounting department to work toward the overall goal of providing accurate and timely financial information in accordance with US GAAP and Company policy.
- Oversee the month-end close/consolidation process, including the recording of journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and calculating various balance sheet reserves.
- Ensure a robust internal controls environment exists and drive business to be SOX compliant.
- Act as owner of Accounting policies and procedures and ensure compliance globally with both BAF and Madison Air standards.
- Partner with the Director of Accounting Operations to identify business or operational issues that affect the company's accounts and effectiveness, as well as recommend ways of improving existing systems and processes.
- Prepare monthly analyses on changes in accounts and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
- Lead the annual Audits, prepare audit schedules, resolve audit issues identified by external auditors; provide support to internal parties and external auditors during year-end audits.
- Serve as primary conduit into the Madison Air Tax and Controllership teams for issues as they arise.
- Lead in developing an environment that creates “best practices” processes and systems and challenges current practices in an effort to locate efficiencies.
- Mentor and lead team members through towards best-in-class performance.
- Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent)
- ERP systems experience
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including strong working knowledge of Excel
- Strong ability in managing changing priorities and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
Nice to Have
- 7-10 years of general accounting experience
- Experience in a publicly-traded company
- Experience with Standard Costing
- Experience with Epicor
- CPA
