TransPerfect is hiring a German Language Linguist (m/w/d) to assist in the creation of a lexicon by providing phonetic transcriptions. You will use your expertise in German phonetics to build a foundational resource for language technology.
What You'll Do
- Create phonetic transcriptions for a provided list of words using the IPA or SAMPA phonetic alphabet.
- Follow strict formatting requirements laid out in project guidelines.
- Provide deliverables on a tight schedule.
What We're Looking For
- Idiomatic fluency in German (Germany).
- Postgraduate degree in Linguistics with a specialization in Phonetics or another relevant field.
- Familiarity with the IPA and SAMPA phonetic alphabets.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A Computer with a reliable and steady internet connection.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with linguistic data, especially phonetic data.

This is a fully remote position with a global scope.
