ENSCO is seeking a Geophysicist to join our team and play a critical role in geophysical data collection, analysis, and modeling. You will support projects focused on underground facility characterization, WMD threat analysis, and other national security initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Lead field surveys using seismic reflection, refraction, GPR, electromagnetic surveys, and passive seismic methods.
- Operate and maintain advanced geophysical equipment in complex environments.
- Develop and implement machine learning algorithms to improve detection and classification of subsurface features.
- Apply advanced computational techniques to analyze seismic, acoustic, and electromagnetic sensor data.
- Perform in-depth analysis using physics-based models, inversion theory, and 3D visualization tools.
- Model subsurface processes to identify vulnerabilities in WMD facilities and underground infrastructure.
- Design test plans and execute validation processes for geophysical models and algorithms.
- Provide technical oversight for integrating geophysical data into broader mission objectives.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams of software developers, engineers, and data scientists.
- Support interagency and international collaboration on geophysical research.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and visualizations for government and military stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geological Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in geophysics or a related field.
- Proven expertise in seismic, electromagnetic, and radar-based survey techniques.
- Hands-on experience in algorithm development and machine learning applications for geophysical data.
- Proficiency with geophysical software tools.
- Advanced skills in data processing, geophysical modeling, and interpretation.
- Familiarity with multichannel data acquisition and analysis techniques.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI clearance required.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Nice to Have
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Geophysics, Geological Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community (IC) projects.
- Expertise in time-lapse geophysical monitoring and real-time data analysis.
- Familiarity with advanced geophysical workflows, including depth imaging, anisotropy analysis, and velocity modeling.
- Strong presentation and communication skills for client briefings and team collaboration.
- Field experience in austere environments, including planning and executing complex surveys.
- Professional certifications or memberships (e.g., AGU, SEG).
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
