Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and interpret accounting data, financial statements, and related reports to ensure correctness and compliance with standards.
  • Carry out core accounting functions including monthly closing procedures, account reconciliations, and general ledger upkeep.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable workflows, ensuring on-time vendor payments and efficient receivables collection.
  • Generate and distribute monthly financial reports accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy in financial reporting and transaction recording.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager on budget development, forecasting, and analysis of financial variances.
  • Investigate, monitor, and correct inconsistencies or irregularities in financial records.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including audit preparation and documentation.
  • Assist in tax compliance processes involving value added tax, withholding tax, and corporate income tax, along with zakat submissions, by preparing required schedules and records.
  • Evaluate current accounting workflows to identify inefficiencies and suggest operational enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting or financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Familiarity with tax and zakat compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
