Love's Travel Stops is looking for a General Manager in Training to play a pivotal role in our operations. You will be instrumental in driving efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction across our facilities, assisting in leading a team to execute strategies that grow sales and meet our organizational goals.
What You'll Do
- Take hands-on responsibility for multiple business operations including retail store, fuel, restaurant, fresh kitchen, and truck care.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility through rigorous restroom and shower cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and safety checks.
- Drive sales of products and services through efficient ordering, stocking, inventory management, and adherence to merchandising standards.
- Assist the General Manager with proper task execution and completion, schedule and cash integrity, and daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
- Understand financial reporting to include analyzing profit and loss statements and implementing changes to capitalize on opportunities.
- Collaborate with managers on talent acquisition efforts.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of management experience in retail, travel stop, c-store, big box, grocery, or a department store.
- 2+ years managing operations with an annual sales volume of $2+ million.
- 2+ years of experience affecting and deciphering budgets and P&L statements.
- 2+ years supervising and training 5-10+ employees.
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work various shifts including days, afternoons, evenings, nights, occasional overnights, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer satisfaction focus.
- Exceptional customer service, positive rapport building, expert salesmanship, and operational management skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with acute attention to detail.
- Effective teamwork skills.
- Ability to meet physical demands: regular talking and hearing; frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing; frequent lifting/moving of items over 75 pounds.
