Shiji Group is looking for a General Ledger Accountant HGB to manage the financial integrity for assigned entities within our European operations. You will ensure compliance with local accounting principles and support the team in delivering accurate, timely financials.
What You'll Do
- Handle general ledger accounting for assigned entities in the European region.
- Ensure financial compliance with local GAAP and, where applicable, IFRS.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities according to company deadlines.
- Reconcile balance sheet and P&L accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and support external audits.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Tax advisors.
- Support VAT filings, tax compliance, and statutory reporting, focusing on Germany and other European jurisdictions.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation across multiple jurisdictions.
- Work with the European GL Team to ensure consistency and efficiency in accounting practices.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and proactive approach to work.
- Cooperative personality with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have
- 2 years working with HGB accounting.
- Experience with accounting systems; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV is preferable.
- Experience with IFRS.
- Experience supporting German tax filings or statutory audits.
- German language skills.
