About the Role
This role involves delivering accurate, real-time interpretation between English and Gbe languages for individuals and professionals in time-sensitive situations. Interpreters ensure clear communication while adhering to ethical standards and privacy protocols.
Responsibilities
- Conduct live interpretation in both English and designated Gbe dialects
- Support conversations in medical, customer support, and public service settings
- Maintain neutrality and accuracy during all interpreting sessions
- Follow established protocols for handling sensitive or urgent calls
- Use interpreting platform tools efficiently and securely
- Adhere to confidentiality agreements at all times
- Respond promptly to incoming interpretation requests
- Manage call duration and session quality effectively
- Report technical or procedural issues as needed
- Participate in periodic performance reviews
- Stay available during assigned on-demand shifts
- Follow instructions from scheduling and operations teams
- Uphold professional standards in tone and conduct
- Accurately identify language dialects at call start
- Escalate complex situations according to guidelines
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in interpreting or translation
- Familiarity with medical or legal terminology

Language Requirements
- Fluency in a Gbe language spoken in Southeast Togo, such as Ewe or related dialects
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex concepts accurately between languages
