What You'll Do
Conduct thorough gas safety inspections in accordance with the Health and Safety Executive’s risk model and statutory requirements. You’ll follow established protocols to assess compliance, identify unsafe or illegal installations, and verify that corrective measures are implemented promptly.
Prepare accurate inspection reports within agreed service level timelines, ensuring clarity and adherence to internal and regulatory standards. You’ll communicate directly with registered gas businesses and consumers, providing clear feedback and guidance to resolve identified issues.
Take appropriate action when non-compliance is found, ensuring public safety remains the priority. Your work will support continuous improvement in gas safety practices across residential and commercial environments.
Requirements
You must hold current ACS certifications in CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, and HTR1 as a minimum. A solid understanding of gas safety legislation, building regulations, and industry best practices is essential, along with the ability to assess risks in diverse operational settings.
Experience working with a range of gas appliances or in quality assurance of gas installations is highly valued. Additional ACS qualifications in LPG, Non-Domestic & Catering, LAU1, or DAH1 are advantageous. You should be proficient in using inspection tools and conducting technical assessments on-site.
Familiarity with auditing standards or holding a relevant qualification such as D32/A1 is desirable. Commitment to ongoing professional development through CPD is expected to maintain technical competence.
