Responsibilities
- Provide frontline support to clients seeking legal assistance
- Conduct initial client interviews with cultural sensitivity
- Interpret and translate documents and conversations between English and Cantonese
- Schedule client appointments and manage case intake
- Maintain accurate client records and case notes
- Assist in preparing legal forms and documentation
- Serve as a liaison between clients and legal staff
- Explain legal processes in clear, accessible language
- Support community outreach initiatives in Cantonese-speaking neighborhoods
- Respond to phone and in-person inquiries promptly
- Coordinate with interpreters and external partners when needed
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards
- Participate in team meetings and case reviews
- Assist in organizing legal clinics and workshops
- Follow up with clients to track case progress
- Help maintain office operations and client flow
- Escalate complex cases to supervising attorneys
- Support data entry and reporting requirements
- Promote services within the local community
