Mindrift is looking for a Freelance Tax Accountant to join our AI Trainer initiative. You will use your accounting expertise to create complex, realistic tasks that test and train frontier AI agents, directly shaping their utility and performance in the financial domain.
What You'll Do
- Create complex, realistic tasks that push frontier AI agents to their limits.
- Build detailed task versions with objective scoring.
- Write ambiguous task versions intended to train the AI agent to succeed with less hand-holding.
- Complete qualification step and project onboarding to begin working in production.
- Create training prompts and refine model responses.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Financial Accounting, or closely aligned areas.
- Minimum of 3 years professional industry experience in accounting in relevant fields (e.g., audit, financial reporting, internal controls, tax, management accounting).
- Familiarity with US GAAP standards.
- Advanced (C1) or above level of English proficiency.
- Ability to write clearly and professionally, including explaining complex tasks in simple, structured language.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources into accurate, coherent outputs.
- Creativity in designing realistic and engaging examples, cases, or workflows based on domain knowledge.
- Motivation to work with challenging, complex guidelines, learn new methods, and strengthen domain-specific skills.
- Ready to learn new methods, able to switch between tasks and topics quickly.
- Laptop, internet connection, and available time.
Nice to Have
- Chartered accountancy qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or ICAEW.
- Experience in cross-functional, applied, or international projects, especially in real-world or consulting contexts.
