Djamo is hiring a Fraud & Credit Risk - Tech lead

About the Role

Shape the future of responsible lending by leading data science initiatives in credit risk and fraud prevention. Reporting to the Head of Lending, you'll drive the development and deployment of models that directly influence product decisions, portfolio health, and customer experience across multiple markets.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, validate, and oversee the lifecycle of scoring, fraud detection, pricing, and collections optimization models in production environments.
  • Turn complex business challenges into clear data-driven strategies, ensuring models are transparent, measurable, and aligned with real-world outcomes.
  • Collaborate with product, technology, and credit teams to co-build the risk data science roadmap and prioritize high-impact initiatives.
  • Establish performance metrics, monitoring dashboards, and structured reporting processes for key stakeholders.
  • Guide regulatory and governance discussions related to model risk and compliance.
  • Mentor and expand a dedicated credit data science team, fostering technical excellence and sustainable practices.
  • Set and uphold high standards for code quality, model interpretability, and operational reliability.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least five years of hands-on experience building and deploying credit or fraud models in a live environment, preferably within a top-tier financial institution or fintech.
  • A strong ethical compass, with thoughtful consideration of the societal impact of risk decisions.
  • Self-driven, inquisitive, and able to thrive independently while collaborating effectively across disciplines.
  • Fluency in both English and French, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

Work Arrangement
