As a Forward-Deployed Engineer in pre-sales, you will play a central role in bringing AI automation to life for enterprise customers. You'll collaborate directly with clients to uncover operational challenges, then design and implement robust technical solutions using the Tessera Mosaic platform. Your work will span from initial discovery through deployment, ensuring seamless transition to long-term success teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop production-ready software and automation workflows using Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript within the Tessera Mosaic environment
- Engage in detailed process analysis with customer teams to identify pain points and define clear technical paths forward
- Create functional prototypes and demonstrations that illustrate how AI agents can solve real-world business problems
- Work alongside go-to-market teams to define project scope, technical feasibility, and deliverables, including Statements of Work
- Coordinate with infrastructure and engineering teams to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with enterprise requirements
- Iterate based on customer feedback, guiding implementations from pilot stages to full production rollout
- Communicate field insights back to product and engineering teams to influence roadmap decisions
- Conduct on-site and virtual training sessions and workshops to empower customer teams on platform capabilities
- Build trusted advisor relationships, identifying new opportunities for automation throughout the engagement lifecycle
What We’re Looking For
You have at least two years of experience in technical customer-facing roles such as solutions engineering, pre-sales, or technical program management. You’re comfortable writing code and explaining complex systems to both engineers and business stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript is required
- Experience building and deploying production-level AI systems
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt quickly in fast-moving environments
- Proven ownership mindset—committed to seeing projects through to successful outcomes
- Willingness to travel to customer locations, primarily within the U.S.
Preferred Background
- Familiarity with enterprise platforms like SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, Snowflake, or MuleSoft
- Experience delivering technical demos, presentations, or proof-of-concepts to enterprise audiences
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role with team members distributed across the U.S. Remote work is supported, with periodic travel (25–40%) to customer sites for on-site engagements. The role may include time in San Jose, CA or NYC, NY based on project needs.
