Responsibilities
- Operate LPG counterbalance forklift trucks to safely load and unload palletised freight in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
- Use forklift-mounted scanning technology to accurately record freight movements and ensure traceability across the network.
- Maintain precise handling and placement of goods, following scanning and labelling procedures to support efficient hub operations.
- Report directly to the Team Leader, working collaboratively with colleagues to meet nightly performance targets.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety, adhering to all site protocols and proactively identifying and reporting risks or unsafe practices.
- Conduct daily pre-use checks on equipment and promptly escalate any faults or maintenance needs.
- Contribute to a positive team culture, showing respect, reliability, and a proactive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with company standards to support operational efficiency and safety.
- Support cross-functional tasks when required, such as assisting with freight checks, bay organisation, or liaising with admin teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
Requirements
- Valid forklift licence (RTITB or equivalent)
- Good literacy and numeracy skills – essential for paperwork and freight handling
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Team player with a flexible and reliable approach
- Willingness to work night shifts and adapt to changing schedules
Nice to Have
- Ideally with at least 1 years’ experience
- Experience operating gas or diesel counterbalance trucks preferred; electric truck experience will also be considered
