AdventHealth is looking for a Medical Laboratory Scientist specializing in Flow Cytometry and Hematology to join our team on evening shifts. You'll conduct highly complex analysis and testing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency while adhering to regulatory standards. This role serves as a vital resource for interpreting results for patients of all ages, extending the healing ministry of Christ within our purpose-minded team.
What You'll Do
- Conduct highly complex analysis and testing procedures using advanced theoretical and practical knowledge.
- Ensure accuracy and efficiency in all tests, adhering to established procedures and competency standards.
- Participate in proficiency testing, complying with federal and state regulations as well as institutional policies.
- Serve as a resource for addressing complex tests and procedures.
- Read, examine, and interpret complex test results.
- Provide technical information related to laboratory testing for all patient age groups, from neonatal to geriatric.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
- Advanced technical skills and aptitudes related to the laboratory testing, procedures, and processes performed in the assigned department.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to varying priorities, and direct workflow with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain equipment and records, perform quality assessment activities, and train new staff.
- Effective communication skills in verbal and written English with patients, staff, and partners.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office to maintain patient documentation and testing records.
- Certification as a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS/AMT), Medical Technologist (MT/AAB), or Medical Laboratory Scientist MLS (ASCP).
Nice to Have
- 5+ years of technical experience in the specialty area.
- Specialist certification in Hematology, Microbiology, Cytometry, Cytology, or a related field from a national certifying organization.
- Clinical Laboratory Supervisor (SU) certification.

- Compensation: $28.68 - $53.35 per hour.
