JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle) is seeking a Fit-Out Engineer (MEP) to join our team in Cairo, Egypt. In this role, you will be the primary liaison between tenants, design professionals, contractors, and building management throughout the fit-out process and ongoing operations, ensuring projects meet world-class standards and are completed on time.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the main point of contact between tenants, design professionals, contractors, and building management.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of MEP drawings for retail and office spaces, ensuring compliance with the latest regional and international codes and the property's design criteria.
- Coordinate and monitor the installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, adhering to plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Schedule and conduct inspections of MEP systems to verify compliance with design and regulatory requirements.
- Proactively identify and resolve MEP-related issues or conflicts to minimize impacts on project timelines.
- Prepare snag lists and tracking tools to guarantee on-time unit openings.
- Test and commission tenant MEP installations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to installations, including progress reports and verification of as-built drawings.
- Collaborate with operations teams on the day-to-day requirements, activations, and operations of the property.
- Undertake deliverables aligned with varied scope of works and client requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or a relevant engineering field.
- Minimum of 5 years of MEP design and engineering experience for tenant fit-out projects within the commercial real estate sector in Egypt.
- Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant industry tools.
- Strong knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Fit-Out Management and MEP Systems knowledge.
- Experience working directly for and on behalf of a Landlord / Client.
- Knowledge of Building Codes and Standards, Energy Efficiency, Load Calculations, and Technical Specifications.
- Project Management skills.
- FM / Service Provider Management and Supervision experience.
- Transitions Management experience.
- KPI & SLA Oversight / Management experience.
- Experience using property management CRM systems and building management CAFM systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Fluent English (verbal and written).
- Excellent telecommunication and customer service skills.
- Flexible, proactive, and dynamic individual, available to work on shift rotation and during weekends.
