About the Role

Victaulic is hiring a Fire Protection Sales Specialist to drive growth in the Buffalo, NY territory. In this outside sales role, you will promote our fire protection and mechanical pipe joining products, building expertise and strong relationships to influence decision-makers across the project lifecycle.

What You'll Do

  • Develop a business plan with your Regional Sales Manager, including opportunity mapping, sales goals, and product promotion.
  • Execute all phases of project pursuit and management from design and specification through bidding, training, support, commissioning, and after-sale follow-up.
  • Gather complete information for all quotation requisitions, including application, specification, pricing, and timing.
  • Lead inside sales, engineering, and support staff to ensure teamwork meets customer requirements.
  • Find and follow major construction, expansion, or retrofit projects and stay current with market trends and competitor activity.
  • Integrate into local trade organizations and professional associations to become part of the industry fabric in your territory.
  • Build lasting relationships with mechanical contractors, engineers, and building/project owners, including social engagements beyond normal business hours.
  • Partner with Victaulic distributors and manage a balanced distribution network.
  • Coordinate activities with other Victaulic representatives and regional market specialists to ensure the best customer experience.
  • Educate customers on Victaulic's value through job site tool demos, installation technique training, and presentations like 'lunch and learns'.

What We're Looking For

  • Willingness to travel, with some territories requiring heavier overnight travel.
  • Ability to work remote with minimal supervision; must be self-motivated and self-driven.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions (snow, heat, mud, rain) and lift equipment weighing up to 50+ pounds.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Previous sales experience selling 'value added' products/services, preferably related to commercial construction, the PVF industry (pipes, valves, fittings), or mechanical products.
  • Demonstrated achievements in sales and a history of developing and nurturing long-standing relationships.

Team & Environment

In this role, you will report to a Regional Sales Manager and work closely with an inside sales team, engineering, other Victaulic representatives, and regional market specialists.
