The Trustees of Reservations is hiring a Fine Gardener

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine garden upkeep using practical techniques such as planting, pruning, weeding, deadheading, staking, mulching, raking, edging, labeling, and watering
  • Support and inspire volunteer teams through active involvement and organization
  • Interact with visitors in a welcoming and constructive way
  • Complete additional assigned tasks, with or without accommodations

Requirements

  • Demonstrated gardening expertise combined with enthusiasm and a strong commitment to work
  • Advanced knowledge of horticulture practices
  • Deep interest in plant life and cultivation
  • Strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
  • Cooperative and optimistic attitude
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively
  • Proven experience in standard garden maintenance including planting, pruning, weeding, deadheading, staking, mulching, raking, edging, labeling, and watering
  • Able to perform duties outdoors regardless of weather conditions
  • Able to encourage and help organize volunteer efforts
  • Able to communicate openly and positively with the public

Work Arrangement

On-site — Steven's Coolidge House & Gardens, North Andover, MA

Team

Reports to the Horticulturist and collaborates with staff, volunteers, visitors, members, and donors
