Responsibilities
- Perform routine garden upkeep using practical techniques such as planting, pruning, weeding, deadheading, staking, mulching, raking, edging, labeling, and watering
- Support and inspire volunteer teams through active involvement and organization
- Interact with visitors in a welcoming and constructive way
- Complete additional assigned tasks, with or without accommodations
Requirements
- Demonstrated gardening expertise combined with enthusiasm and a strong commitment to work
- Advanced knowledge of horticulture practices
- Deep interest in plant life and cultivation
- Strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
- Cooperative and optimistic attitude
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively
- Proven experience in standard garden maintenance including planting, pruning, weeding, deadheading, staking, mulching, raking, edging, labeling, and watering
- Able to perform duties outdoors regardless of weather conditions
- Able to encourage and help organize volunteer efforts
- Able to communicate openly and positively with the public
Work Arrangement
On-site — Steven's Coolidge House & Gardens, North Andover, MA
Team
Reports to the Horticulturist and collaborates with staff, volunteers, visitors, members, and donors
