Monzo is looking for a Financial Crime Business Banking Investigator to help protect our customers from fraud and financial crime. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing suspicious activity on business accounts, making critical decisions, and reporting to authorities.
What You'll Do
- Analyze potentially unusual or suspicious behaviour on business accounts flagged by transaction monitoring systems.
- Decide what action Monzo should take regarding flagged accounts.
- Document suspicious activity and send reports to the National Crime Agency.
- Review account applications from new business customers.
- Lock down money obtained through fraud to return it to victims.
- Close business accounts when necessary and ensure money is returned correctly.
- Respond to escalations about potential financial crime concerns on business accounts.
What We're Looking For
- Experience handling challenging customer cases in a regulated industry, or existing operational fraud or financial crime experience, in retail or business banking.

- Ability to connect dots, spot patterns in data, and independently solve problems.
- Confidence making difficult, customer-impacting decisions.

Team & Environment
You will be part of the Financial Crime team and may flex between pillars such as Anti Money Laundering, Screening, and Law Enforcement.
