About the Role

The Financial Analyst (Intermediate) will serve as a finance partner to the business, supporting financial planning, reporting, and analysis activities within the Canada Fuel Distribution division, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the creation of monthly and quarterly financial forecasts and management reports
  • Assist with month-end closing tasks, including accruals and variance assessments
  • Contribute to financial reporting packages with summaries of operational outcomes and trends
  • Update and maintain financial models to ensure data integrity and consistency
  • Deliver analytical support to stakeholders through financial and operational insights
  • Help identify key performance drivers and flag potential risks or opportunities
  • Support the development of business justifications and presentation materials for projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect data and validate planning assumptions
  • Assist in the annual budgeting cycle, including data collection and consolidation
  • Help build budget models and monitor critical assumptions and performance drivers
  • Analyze differences between actual results, budgets, and forecasts
  • Provide data support to Corporate Development and Investor Relations upon request
  • Engage in initiatives to improve processes and systems
  • Respond to ad hoc financial analysis and reporting needs
  • Participate in business transformation and system process optimization

The Opportunity

The Financial Analyst (Intermediate) will support the Finance team as a partner to the business, contributing to financial analysis, reporting, and planning activities. This role provides exposure to forecasting, performance analysis, and business decision support within the Canada Fuel Distribution division, while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
