Role OverviewJoin a forward-thinking team as a Financial Analyst focused on ESG-driven business planning and financial analysis for a central repair operations unit. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial tracking, intercompany billing, and project economics, with responsibilities spanning from month-end close to long-term forecasting. The role will be staffed at either the Analyst or Senior Analyst level, based on the candidate’s qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage SAP SD billing workflows, including order creation for internal and third-party customers and processing intercompany transactions
- Generate and process work orders, invoices, and cost reports using SAP
- Support PowerSAM project setup, revisions, and economic modeling, ensuring proper approval routing
- Track and reconcile capital and maintenance projects across PSAM and FPR systems
- Prepare journal entries and assist with accruals and closing procedures for monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles
- Develop and maintain the annual 5-year business plan in coordination with plant leadership, ensuring accurate input into FPR
- Produce financial summaries, variance analyses, and performance reports for management review
- Monitor plant-level financial and operational performance, identifying trends and advising on cost efficiency
- Design dashboards and reporting tools to improve data accessibility and decision-making
- Act as primary financial contact for plant operations, providing guidance on accounting practices and budget execution
- Collaborate with procurement and operations teams on purchase requisitions and budget tracking
- Identify and implement process improvements in financial workflows and reporting accuracy
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related quantitative field; alternatively, a combination of education and at least 3 years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 2 years of SAP experience, with at least 1 year supporting plant or industrial operations
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budget preparation, and month-end close activities
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams
- Ability to extract, consolidate, and interpret data from multiple systems for reporting purposes
- Familiarity with power generation or heavy industrial operations
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to validate data accuracy and perform reconciliations
- Competency in financial modeling and data visualization techniques
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or CPA certification
- Experience working with power plant financial systems or prior exposure to similar operational environments
- Background in tracking billable costs and customer invoicing processes
Technology Environment
Primary systems include SAP (including SD module), PowerSAM, FPR, and the Microsoft Office suite, with a strong emphasis on data integration and reporting accuracy.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based in Houston, with regular on-site presence required at the Central Repair Shop. Occasional travel to plant locations or corporate offices may be needed, including rare overnight trips. Flexibility to work outside standard hours is expected during critical financial periods or project deadlines.
