NRG is seeking a Financial Analyst to support our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) business planning and analysis, with a specific focus on the Central Repair Shop. This role demands a strong technical understanding of SAP, combined with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively across various functional groups.
What You'll Do
- Support the SAP SD billing process, including setting up orders for inter-company and third-party customer billing, and facilitating billing for O&M plants.
- Provide support for PowerSAM and project economic analysis.
- Summarize and present financial and operational data to management.
- Create Work Orders, process invoices, and run cost reports out of SAP for shop billing and financial support.
- Assist with Purchase Requisitions as needed.
- Act as the Plant Business Process owner, responsible for all plant business and administrative policies.
- Prepare journal entries and coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accruals and closing requirements.
- Prepare and review financial and operational business planning and forecasting activities, monthly variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Accurately track, evaluate, and report on Capital and Major Maintenance projects monthly.
- Within PowerSAM, create new projects, create revisions to current projects, run economics, submit for necessary approvals, and monitor projects between systems (PSAM & FPR).
- Prepare the annual 5-year business plan for the shop with input from the Plant Manager and ensure timely and accurate entry into FPR.
- Prepare business plan decks from templates and supporting slides.
- Provide accounting advice and counsel to the Plant Manager, serving as the primary point-of-contact for accounting.
- Appraise operating results in terms of costs, budgets, trends, and earnings.
- Support all operations activities through collection and analysis of information and the dissemination of intelligence on financial and operational plant performance.
- Perform detailed analysis and prepare comprehensive reports to support all business functions.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses as necessary and in a clear, timely manner.
- Utilize data sources for ad hoc reporting and design/implement tools, dashboards, and visualizations to facilitate effective and efficient decision-making.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with management and site personnel to prepare the site operating budget and update monthly forecasts.
- Maintain accounting records, prepare financial reports, and develop and use statistical and accounting information.
- Identify opportunities for workflow/process improvements and work with functional areas to jointly develop ways to enhance productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
