About the Role
The Finance Specialist will oversee financial transactions, assist in audit preparation, and ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support the development and monitoring of departmental budgets
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
- Assist in internal and external audit processes
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Track grants and restricted funding allocations
- Process payroll and coordinate with HR on compensation records
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Review and approve financial documentation for accuracy
- Collaborate with program teams to monitor spending against budget
- Implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets
- Generate financial reports for leadership review
- Assist in forecasting and financial modeling activities
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity needs
- Coordinate with external accountants and auditors
- Ensure timely tax filings and regulatory submissions
- Support financial training for non-financial staff
- Evaluate financial software and recommend improvements
