The University of British Columbia (UBC) seeks a Finance Analyst – Supply Chain to provide comprehensive financial planning, analysis, and reporting for Inbound & Outbound Freight and Warehousing operations. You will act as a key business partner to supply chain leaders, driving strategic initiatives and financial performance.
What You'll Do
- Drive the implementation and reporting of KPIs and critical metrics.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and cost optimization.
- Lead forecasting and budgeting processes for freight and warehousing.
- Deliver insightful weekly and monthly reporting with variance analysis.
- Partner with procurement to analyze vendor rates and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor financial performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Support capital tracking, S&OP processes, and ad hoc financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
- Provide end-to-end financial support for Outbound Logistics, Inbound Freight, and Warehousing.
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reconciliations.
- Produce accurate and timely financial reporting with detailed commentary.
- Track freight costs, identify discrepancies, and highlight cost leakage.
- Evaluate supply chain projects and continuous improvement initiatives with robust financial analysis.
- Maintain strong internal controls and support audit remediation.
What We're Looking For
- CA or CPA qualification.
- 5+ years of proven experience in finance logistics, freight finance, and business partnering within a large-scale supply chain environment.
- Strong understanding of logistics cost structures and rate/service dynamics.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Analytical mindset with a drive for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
