Phillips 66 is hiring a Field Technician to play a critical role in maintaining safe and reliable pipeline operations. You will handle operational, mechanical, and instrument/electrical functions while supervising field crews and ensuring strict regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do
- Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, inspect, and repair end devices and electrical equipment.
- Conduct routine inspection of equipment and facilities, including equipment health, security, and AVO.
- Perform pipeline pigging, filter changes, and ILI tool runs.
- Manage startup, shutdown, and operation of NGL equipment.
- Provide technical support for installations, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and rotating equipment.
- Perform planned maintenance checks and calibration, submitting appropriate reports.
- Read and understand P&IDs.
- Maintain I&E skills through training sessions and on-the-job training.
- Maintain pipeline ROW including markers, signs, and vegetation control.
- Manage One-Call procedures for pipeline locating, encroachment, excavation, and crossing.
- Maintain records in accordance with pipeline regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine inspection, calibration, and repair of meter and associated equipment.
- Assist with pulling composite samples and proving measurement meters.
- Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, and manual valve actuators.
- Perform maintenance and repair of fixed equipment such as filters, strainers, and dehydration systems.
- Conduct routine inspection of transmitters, switches, fire eyes, hazardous gas detection, and level detection.
- Operate PLC and HMI equipment, software, pipeline valves, and actuators.
- Maintain and repair motor control equipment.
What We're Looking For
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
- 3 or more years of experience working with pipeline maintenance or operation, I&E, and mechanical pump experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Currently live or be willing to relocate within 35 miles of the reporting location.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Willing and able to (with or without reasonable accommodations): lift a minimum of 50 pounds; occasionally exert pulling force of 130 pounds; occasionally climb A-frame ladders up to 45 feet; regularly stoop, squat, kneel, and crouch for durations up to 30 minutes; work extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays; work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines.
Nice to Have
- Completion of a Tech school program.
- Knowledge of Allen Bradley Control/Compact Logic or Siemens Control systems.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical problems.
- Experience reading manufacturer specifications or blueprints to assemble or disassemble complex systems.
- Experience repairing and installing instrumentation and electrical equipment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
