As a Field Service Engineer, you will deliver hands-on technical support for advanced diagnostic instruments at customer sites in South San Francisco, Burlingame, Santa Clarita, and surrounding areas. Your responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing complex systems while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards. You will travel up to 50% of the time, responding to service requests, performing routine updates, and resolving technical issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of diagnostic devices
- Diagnose and resolve technical complaints across multiple instrument platforms
- Document all service activities accurately and in compliance with quality systems
- Collaborate with internal teams to address customer needs and escalate issues when necessary
- Manage time, territory, and inventory effectively to support service goals
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours or urgent requests as needed
- Support remote troubleshooting initiatives to maximize instrument uptime
- Build strong customer relationships through clear communication and professional conduct
- Work cross-functionally with performance partnership teams to ensure service excellence
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and possess a valid driver’s license. Preferred applicants have a background in biomedical, electrical, or mechanical engineering, or medical technology, along with customer-facing experience. Proficiency with standard software tools and remote connectivity platforms is essential.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role with flexible hours and unpredictable travel demands. You will operate primarily in the field, visiting client locations while maintaining coordination with your service manager and regional teams. Compensation
Pay range: $22.45 – $44.85 per hour. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
