Dell Technologies is hiring a Field Service Engineer

The Field Service Engineer 2 delivers hands-on technical support directly at customer locations in Memphis, Tennessee. In this role, you'll diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues, ensuring systems operate efficiently and with minimal downtime. Working independently and in coordination with Dell's internal support teams, you'll execute repair plans, perform system validations, and maintain accurate service records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose technical issues under guidance from remote engineering teams using communication tools such as Teams, email, and phone
  • Implement repair strategies including reseating, swapping, or replacing components and updating firmware as needed
  • Conduct server diagnostics and validation tests, capturing and uploading logs for analysis
  • Document all actions taken, including parts replaced and service outcomes, through formal reporting channels
  • Maintain compliance with handling procedures, including lifting server components up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of field service experience supporting enterprise-grade hardware and software environments
  • Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience supporting large-scale, centralized IT deployments with knowledge of networking and fiber infrastructure

Preferred Skills

  • Certifications such as Dell EMC Proven Professional Specialist (CPSD or PowerEdge), CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or CCNA
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools, firmware update utilities, and remote collaboration platforms

Work Environment

This is an onsite position based in Memphis, Tennessee, requiring regular travel to customer sites. You’ll work in a collaborative, customer-focused setting that values technical excellence and continuous learning. The role supports critical infrastructure, emphasizing precision, documentation, and timely resolution.

Compensation and Growth

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $84,000.
