As a Field Service Engineer, you will deliver hands-on technical support directly at customer locations, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex computing systems. Your role involves diagnosing hardware and software faults, performing component replacements, and executing firmware updates to keep critical infrastructure running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with remote engineering teams using communication platforms to assess and resolve technical issues
- Follow documented procedures to troubleshoot, test, and validate server performance
- Re-seat, replace, or upgrade system components as needed, including parts handling up to 50 pounds
- Log detailed service reports, including part numbers and system identifiers, through case management channels
- Perform diagnostics and capture system logs for analysis and long-term reliability tracking
Qualifications
Candidates should have at least five years of field service experience or hold an Associate’s degree in a technical field with equivalent experience. Proven ability to work directly with clients across organizational levels is essential.
Required experience includes supporting on-site technology deployments in environments with dense equipment setups, along with familiarity in networking and fiber connectivity. Physical capability to handle server components is necessary for this role.
Preferred certifications include Dell EMC Proven Professional Specialist credentials in server or converged infrastructure, as well as industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or CCNA.
