As a Field Service Engineer 2, you'll provide direct technical support at customer locations, focusing on diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues for enterprise-grade infrastructure. Based in Dalton, Georgia, you'll play a key role in maintaining system performance and ensuring reliable operations for clients with large-scale deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues under guidance from remote engineering teams, using communication tools like Teams, email, and phone
- Follow documented action plans to repair, replace, or reseat server components and update firmware as required
- Conduct system testing and validation using diagnostic tools, then capture and upload logs for review
- Accurately record service activities, including part numbers and replacement details, through case management channels
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely resolution and clear communication across all levels of the customer organization
Qualifications
Candidates must have at least five years of hands-on technical field experience, along with an Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent training and work history. Proven ability to support complex hardware and software systems on-site is essential. You should also have experience in customer-facing roles and be comfortable working in environments with dense technology infrastructure, including networking and fiber optics.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required for handling server components during maintenance and replacements.
Preferred Credentials
- Dell EMC Proven Professional Specialist certifications (e.g., CPSD, PowerEdge Server)
- Industry-recognized credentials such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or CCNA
Technical Environment
You'll work with Dell Domain systems, diagnostic utilities, firmware update tools, and standard collaboration platforms including Microsoft Teams and email.
Work Model
This is an on-site role based in Dalton, Georgia. Regular travel to client locations within the area may be required.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $72,000 – $93,500.
