Slip Robotics is hiring a Field Operations Leader to provide strategic direction for our field operations as we scale our automated robotics platform under a Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) model. You will oversee deployments, maintenance, logistics, compliance, and the establishment of a Customer Support function to ensure high customer satisfaction and minimal downtime.
What You'll Do
- Provide strategic direction across field functions, including service, logistics, compliance, and customer support.
- Develop strategies aligned with company goals to drive efficiency; streamline processes and reduce costs using Lean/Six Sigma principles.
- Scale operations via remote diagnostics, supply chain resilience, and customer self-service tools to optimize technician efficiency and uptime.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Hire and train staff for growing deployment volumes, unifying field operations, engineering, logistics, and customer support.
- Work with leadership and cross-functional departments (R&D, Sales, Marketing) for seamless integration and goal alignment.
- Gather field feedback to inform product roadmaps.
- Establish metrics to monitor efficiency, quality, and productivity; report on progress.
- Track downtime, resolution times, customer satisfaction, and financial levers like ROIC and ROI via operational optimizations.
- Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Address supply chain disruptions, enforce safety protocols, and manage remote site failures.
- Foster innovation by encouraging ideas that enhance operational effectiveness.
- Optimize field operations for ROIC, ROI, and gross margin via efficient deployments, predictive maintenance, and supplier negotiations.
- Uphold Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and identify upsell opportunities.
- Scale the Customer Support function for inquiries, data requests, and self-service via portals and APIs, leveraging AI for efficiency.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years in field operations leadership.
- Experience ideally in robotics, logistics, or hardware deployment (e.g., scaling technology installations).
- Proven track record in high-growth startups, focusing on remote diagnostics, supply chain enhancements, and integrated user interfaces.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong grasp of ROIC, ROI, and gross margin levers to drive financial improvements via efficiency and cost reductions.
- Strong leader capable of motivating distributed teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for customer and internal alignment.
- Hands-on and resilient in dynamic, fast-paced settings.
- Focused on efficiency, safety, and customer-centricity.
- Willingness for extensive travel.
