Responsibilities
- Plan and lead high-complexity hardware operations such as full rack deployments or multi-node reconfigurations, including risk analysis, rollback planning, and coordination with vendors for RMAs and technical escalations.
- Diagnose system-level issues by analyzing cross-domain symptoms across compute, storage, networking, and cooling systems, using BMC/IPMI interfaces, system logs, and hardware indicators like LEDs or beep codes.
- Mentor junior technicians in safety protocols including ESD and lockout/tagout, initial fault assessment, rack installation quality, documentation standards, and collaborative troubleshooting on complex tasks.
- Enhance operational efficiency by refining standard procedures and developing lightweight automation tools in Python or Bash for asset tracking, log collection, photo documentation, and real-time monitoring dashboards.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations including proper use of PPE, LOTO procedures, and maintain fully auditable work records with clear change documentation and evidence trails.
- Manage advanced spare parts logistics by analyzing failure patterns, forecasting component needs, and driving preemptive actions with hardware suppliers.
