Sartorius is hiring a Field Application Specialist to provide technical support and application expertise for our Separation Technology products, focusing on filtration and purification. You will serve customers in biopharma, biotech, pharma, and academia across the Sub-Saharan Africa territory.
What You'll Do
- Provide product expertise, application knowledge, and technical support for filtration and purification products.
- Prepare and conduct technical presentations, demonstrations, hands-on training, trials, and troubleshooting sessions for customers and partners.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to identify new business opportunities, specify customer requirements, and support deal closure.
- Participate in marketing activities, including new product launches.
- Provide internal feedback on market requirements, competitor activity, and customer needs.
- Proactively engage with existing customers to identify training needs.
- Manage your own time and work schedule effectively.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Understanding of biopharmaceutical processes, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- High motivation, curiosity, and organization with the capability to plan your own schedule.
- A team player able to interact with people across different international functions, while also comfortable working independently.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve technical problems.
- Demonstrated ability to present data, findings, and recommendations to customers.
- Willingness to travel and be present at customer and partner sites.
- Right to work in South Africa.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience with equipment supporting filtration and purification in a biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, or pharmaceutical environment, or in a similar field role.
- Customer-facing, sales, or application specialist/scientist experience.
- Experience in training others.
