Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage acute and chronic medical conditions across all age groups.
- Deliver routine health assessments, preventive screenings, and immunizations to support long-term wellness.
- Educate patients on nutrition, physical activity, lifestyle choices, and mental well-being to promote disease prevention.
- Monitor patient health over time and adjust treatment strategies based on progress and changing needs.
- Perform minor surgical interventions, wound management, and common outpatient procedures.
- Order and analyze lab results, imaging studies, and other diagnostic tests to inform clinical decisions.
- Address urgent medical concerns with prompt evaluation and stabilization, referring to emergency services when necessary.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and ensure continuity of care for complex health issues.
- Collaborate with nurses, pharmacists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare providers for integrated patient management.
- Support long-term management of chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, and mental health conditions.
- Guide patients through the healthcare system to access treatments, medications, and community resources.
- Engage in public health efforts like vaccination drives and health education campaigns to improve community outcomes.
- Maintain precise, secure, and up-to-date medical records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Follow federal, provincial, and territorial regulations and professional guidelines in medical practice.
