Facilities Technician – Houston, TX (Local Remote Role)
Role Overview
This position supports the ongoing operation and maintenance of retail and corporate banking facilities across multiple counties in the Houston area. As a key member of the facilities team, you will balance field work with administrative responsibilities, ensuring properties remain functional, safe, and compliant. The role operates remotely with frequent local site visits and hybrid collaboration as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, lighting, HVAC filter changes, and interior/exterior building upkeep
- Self-perform 40–60% of non-contracted maintenance tasks across assigned locations
- Manage work orders through a digital facilities management system and ensure accurate documentation
- Conduct quarterly site visits and complete annual assessments for all properties
- Oversee vendor performance, including service quality and pricing verification
- Coordinate construction, remodeling, and relocation projects from planning through completion
- Develop and monitor workflows for contractors and third-party service providers
- Support budget development and participate in vendor proposal reviews
- Attend team meetings and complete required training, both online and in person
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address facility needs promptly
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license; ability to operate a company-provided vehicle for work-related travel
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities or property maintenance
- Proven ability in preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and vendor coordination
- Experience managing facility budgets and reviewing service proposals
- Proficiency with computers, including email, word processing, and spreadsheets
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate basic hand tools (personal tools required)
- Self-directed with strong initiative and minimal need for supervision
- Commitment to delivering high-quality service and maintaining compliance standards
Preferred
- Trade certification in HVAC, electrical, or related field
- Experience with facilities management software and work order systems
- Strong project management skills, including scheduling, documentation, and budget tracking
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Leadership experience in organizing team workflows or reviewing work quality
- Understanding of risk management and adherence to regulatory requirements
