Responsibilities
- Deliver technical assistance for mechanical operations in coordination with facilities, construction, engineering, and project teams.
- Conduct routine and reactive maintenance on boilers, chillers, HVAC units, and related mechanical infrastructure such as plumbing and compressed air systems.
- Assist in managing and coordinating contractor activities for facility-related projects and system upgrades.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the site’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Support the installation, commissioning, and operation of mechanical systems essential to R&D testing activities.
- Develop and refine operational guidelines and standard procedures for key mechanical equipment including boilers, chillers, reverse osmosis units, and HVAC systems.
- Implement lockout/tagout protocols to safely de-energize and isolate equipment during maintenance or repair.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment failures using fundamental electrical testing tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters.
- Perform advanced maintenance involving inspection, operation, installation, and troubleshooting of specialized equipment like bridge cranes and loading dock systems.
- Oversee minor facilities projects, service requests, and preventive maintenance using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and mobile applications.
- Record and report findings from maintenance inspections, including defects, safety hazards, and compliance with regulatory codes.
- Generate, analyze, and submit maintenance reports, deficiency logs, and work orders using digital tools and software platforms.
- Deliver prompt and efficient support to internal stakeholders and team members.
- Adhere to all applicable safety regulations, company policies, and local or national codes.
- Respond to emergencies involving mechanical system breakdowns or facility disruptions, including on-call and after-hours duties as needed.
- Assist during regulatory audits and inspections, and support corrective actions for compliance-related issues.
- Contribute to long-term planning for equipment lifecycle management, replacement assessments, and maintenance efficiency improvements.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors or project leads.

On-site — Albuquerque, New Mexico

- Up to 5% travel may be required.
- Occasional overtime is expected.
