About the Role
The Expense Management Specialist ensures accurate and timely processing of employee expense claims while upholding financial policies and supporting audit readiness across departments.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify employee-submitted expense reports for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure all claims comply with internal financial policies and regulatory standards
- Process reimbursements in a timely and error-free manner
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in expense documentation
- Communicate with employees to clarify missing or irregular submissions
- Maintain up-to-date records in the financial management system
- Generate monthly reports on expense trends and audit findings
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation
- Collaborate with HR and payroll teams to align reimbursement timelines
- Recommend improvements to expense reporting workflows and tools
- Stay current with tax regulations affecting business expense treatment
- Assist in policy updates related to travel and operational spending
- Track and categorize expenses by department and project
- Monitor for potential fraud or misuse of funds
- Ensure secure handling of sensitive financial data
Nice to Have
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar credential
- Experience in a technology or startup environment
