Responsibilities
- Create and lead customized and group-based performance programs for young, college, and adult athletes
- Build structured strength and conditioning plans targeting speed, power, agility, endurance, and injury prevention
- Perform initial and periodic assessments of force output, movement efficiency, aerobic fitness, and sprint dynamics
- Instruct athletes in correct lifting form, movement patterns, and sport-specific techniques
- Track athlete workload, fatigue levels, and physical readiness to enhance performance
- Collaborate directly with physical therapists to support clients in late-stage rehab and return-to-sport phases
- Guide athletes through progressive return-to-running, jumping, directional changes, and sport-specific drills
- Adjust training based on medical limitations, pain responses, and functional capabilities
- Take part in clinical case reviews and interdisciplinary care planning sessions
- Support discharge planning and transition athletes into long-term performance programs
- Manage daily operations of the performance training area, including scheduling and equipment maintenance
- Expand performance offerings such as training camps and small group sessions
- Maintain a safe, organized, and motivating training environment
- Record and analyze performance data to support quality improvement efforts
- Support community engagement, team partnerships, and athlete enrollment initiatives
- Teach athletes and their families about training fundamentals, recovery methods, and injury prevention
- Communicate regularly with physical therapists on progress, setbacks, and key readiness indicators
- Keep detailed records of performance metrics and return-to-play milestones
