Kiewit Corporation is hiring an Equipment Superintendent to coordinate, facilitate, and execute equipment activities supporting all construction projects. In this field leadership role, you will manage equipment maintenance and readiness to meet specific project needs.
What You'll Do
- Provide field leadership and management of equipment maintenance and readiness to meet specific project needs.
- Ensure project safety and quality performance through personal example as well as supervision activities.
- Control and track all aspects of equipment cost.
- Provide senior management with equipment recap reports.
- Accountable for the training, development, coaching and morale of direct and indirect reports.
- Accountable for the retention and engagement of direct and indirect reports.
- Accountable for developing and maintaining team cohesion among district, internal joint venture, and external joint venture partner employees.
- Coordinate work with other co-workers on the job.
- Work within Company data systems to record and track equipment maintenance and utilization.
- Perform other duties as required by supervisor or manager.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or similar type experience in a construction related position that provides the knowledge and experience required for this position.
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years' experience in a mechanical related field.
- Knowledge of construction safety and current federal and provincial requirements.
- Broad knowledge of engineering and construction methods.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Exhibits integrity & ethical behavior in all things; understands Kiewit ethics policy.
- Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness, ability, and enthusiasm for travel, sometimes on short notice.
- Must be a self-starter and highly motivated with the desire to do what it takes to get the job done.
- Regular, reliable attendance and the ability to work productively and meet deadlines timely.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
- Ability to perform work safely and effectively, and understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines, and work overtime and weekends as required.
- Ability to work at various different locations where conditions may vary.
