What You'll Do
Perform on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of dental equipment, ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently. Work independently to complete complex tasks such as installing intraoral x-ray units, dry vacuum systems, and ceiling-mounted devices with minimal supervision. Lead small-scale projects, including mechanical room upgrades and operatory expansions, while providing guidance to junior technicians when needed.
Diagnose technical issues using structured troubleshooting methods and implement effective solutions. Maintain accurate inventory of tools and parts in your service vehicle, and ensure all equipment is ready for deployment. Communicate clearly with team members and dispatchers to provide updates on job status and coordinate next steps.
Review completed work orders with office staff before leaving the site, confirming services performed, parts used, and any follow-up actions. Submit all documentation daily, including service reports, expense records, and regulatory forms, ensuring compliance with company and legal requirements.
Adhere to OSHA standards and company safety policies, using personal protective equipment as needed. Participate in ongoing training programs, including manufacturer-specific technical courses and career development sessions, to maintain technical proficiency.
Requirements
Must demonstrate intermediate knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, along with solid troubleshooting abilities. Proven experience completing work orders, field service reports, expense claims, and other documentation accurately and on time is essential. Strong computer and communication skills are required to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
You should be self-motivated, capable of working independently, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience presenting preventative maintenance recommendations to clients is important for supporting long-term equipment performance. A background handling confidential customer information with discretion is expected.
Must comply with fleet management policies, including vehicle maintenance and incident reporting procedures. Availability to travel locally and complete assignments across the Columbus area is necessary.
