Fives Stein (Division Steel & Glass) is hiring an Entry Level Controls Engineer for its Fives DyAG Corp division in Coppell, TX. In this on-site role, you will receive comprehensive training and then be responsible for creating and commissioning industrial controls systems for various industries.
What You'll Do
- Receive training on multiple PLC platforms, hardware design, and programming.
- Create and commission industrial controls systems, including PLC software design and HMI screens.
- Develop and install PLC/HMI code, debug on-site, and commission the complete system.
- Conduct peripheral device programming and machine PLC programming.
- Coordinate machine debug, power-up, and validation with build and electrical teams.
- Ensure systems are designed and programmed to customer and build specifications.
- Travel to customer sites for installation, production support, and system startup.
What We're Looking For
- An AS or BS in Engineering (Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar).
- Previous education or training with programming languages (Ladder logic/PLC is ideal, but object-oriented programming experience is acceptable).
- CAD or Design experience (AutoCAD, Solidworks, EPLAN, etc.).
- A willingness to learn and train on new systems.
- A good attitude, team player mentality, ability to work independently, and a willingness to go the extra mile.
- Ability to travel.
Nice to Have
- Prior internship or co-op experience.
- Proficiency with field bus networks such as DeviceNet, Ethernet I/P, Profibus, ProfiNet.
